Garambois, P-A., Brisset, P., Monnier, J., and Roux, H. (13-Dec-16). This paper investigates the identifiability of hydraulic controls given sparse and uncertain satellite observations of a river. The identifiability of river discharge alone and with roughness is tested for several spatio temporal patterns of river observations, including SWOT like observations. A new 1D Shallow water model with variational data assimilation, within the DassFlow chain is presented as well as postprocessing and observation operator dedicated to the future SWOT and SWOT simulator data.

Altimetry Data Assimilation Chain for Multi-resolution River Flow Models
PI: Jérôme Monnier (13-Feb-18). This research project aims at inferring unknown or uncertain hydraulic features of worldwide rivers observed by the SWOT mission; more specifically it aims at estimating the rivers discharge.
SWOT Contribution for Understanding the Dynamics of the Polar Ice Caps; Data Assimilation and Multi-scale Approach
PI: Jérôme Monnier (13-Feb-18). This research project aims at improving the estimation of the bed topography beneath the ice-sheets (Antarctica, Greenland) where very few airborne measurements only are available.
